Press Release: Remotescape launches iPhone/iPod software for Kaleidescape Systems

Waterloo, ON — Feb. 18 2009   Remotescape Inc. (www.remotescape.com) today announced the availability of its new iPhone and iPod touch remote control software for Kaleidescape Systems (www.kaleidescape.com). The Remotescape application provides complete wireless remote control for every feature of the Kaleidescape System using Apple's popular iPhone and iPod touch-screen devices. The software is available immediately for purchase on the Apple App Store.

Until now, Kaleidescape customers had to purchase expensive table-top, wireless, or in-wall touch panels to control their media systems. "The iPhone and iPod touch are the first touch-based devices with the elegance and power to build a control application that matches the ease of use and outstanding user experience of the Kaleidescape System," said Dan Collens, co-founder of Remotescape Inc. and co-founder of Kaleidescape, Inc. "Remotescape leverages the amazing user interface and touch features of the iPhone platform to provide the easiest way to browse and control both movies and music on the Kaleidescape System."

"Like many Kaleidescape customers, I was very excited by the launch of the Apple iPhone and hoped it could someday become a controller for my Kaleidescape System," said Josh Goldman, founder of the Kaleidescape Owners' Forum (www.kscapeowners.com) and an early Remotescape beta tester. "Remotescape, designed with the same attention to detail and ease of use, truly fulfils that promise and is the perfect complement for the Kaleidescape System."

"With Remotescape, we finally have a control device that matches the Kaleidescape System's attention to detail, innovative design, and delightful 'It Just Works' appeal," said Lawrence Kesteloot, former user interface designer for Kaleidescape, Inc.

"Traditional home automation touch panels do not provide easy-to-use portable control of the Kaleidescape System," said Dan Pronovost, co-founder and President of Remotescape Inc. "Remotescape lets Kaleidescape customers control music playback in any room of their homes, all from their iPhone or iPod touch, for a fraction of the cost of traditional touch panel systems."
